Following the success of the their collaboration with Stussy, Converse announces their second major collaboration of the year with iconic Japanese brand Neighborhood for a collaboration that takes masterpieces of Americana and channels it through Tokyo’s attention to detail.
This is not the first time Converse taps a Japanese brand for collaboration – it’s not even the first collaboration between Converse & Neighborhood, they first teamed up in 2013, and this new release picks up where they left off. Their affinity towards Japanese brands, one we can clearly relate to, is explained by Converse to Hypebeast as follows, “When it comes to our designs, we obsess every detail. Japanese culture shares this same attention to the detail and obsession of their chosen focus. There’s a Japanese term for it – “Otaku” – and it shows in how and what they create.”
Below is a first preview of the collection that will be available at Kinfolk in store & online this Thursday, 04/06.
